Campus mail is defined
as "official University correspondence or communications
originating on the campus of the University for delivery on
campus." The department of Campus Mail coordinates the
pick-up and dispatch of all classes of U.S. Mail in an effort
to meet the scheduled departure times of the U.S. Post Office.
It advises all offices and departments regarding the handling
and processing of "mass" mailings to determine lowest
possible rates and timely schedules. This includes the coordination
and the pick-up and delivery of mass mailings from the departments
and offices to Campus Mail and then to the U.S. Post Office.
The Campus Mail Service is alerted to all changes in mail
rates and continuously reviews the various classes of mail
being forwarded from the University. This also ensures that
the lowest rates are used and that all possible savings are
being effected for the University.
*Note:
Mail must be brought to Riverbend Road Campus Mail facility
for processing before 3:00 p.m. to insure delivery that day.
Mail accepted after 3:00 p.m. will be delivered to the post
office the next day.
