Customer
Service Statement
Records Center strives to provide the highest level
of customer service by promptly and correctly responding
to our customers' inquiries. We serve departments within
the Office of the Senior Vice President for Finance
and Administration with a sound records management program
for semi-active and inactive records and assist these
departments with records retention according to guidelines
set forth by the Board of Regents. The success of the
Finance and Administration Records Center depends on
excellent customer service and commitment to our customers.

The Records
Center is responsible within the Office of the Senior Vice
President for Finance and Administration for providing a sound
records management program in the conduct of effective and
efficient business operations.
The Records Center
provides storage for semi-active and inactive records for
units within the Office of the Senior Vice President for Finance
and Administration, providing reference service to requesting
units for any file series in storage. The Coordinator provides
a consultative service to Finance and Administration units
on the retention of records and disposition according to procedures
in the Regents Records Management Manual.
The Board
of Regents of the University System of Georgia now has a website
for record retention schedules and codes, it can be accessed

The Records
Center is responsible for the destruction of expired files
that are stored for units within the Office of the Senior
Vice President for Finance and Administration. Once records
have met all required retention in accordance to the Board
of Regents of the University System of Georgia, destruction
procedures are implemented by the Records Center.
Records
which have archival value are transferred to the University
Library for retention. Arrangements are completed by the Records
Center and require no action from Department Managers.
The Records
Center has a contract with a bonded company for document destruction
that is available to departments within the Office of the
Senior Vice President for Finance & Administration. The
contract provides all labor, materials and equipment required
for secure document destruction of paper records and digital
stored data. Additional information regarding use of this
