Ralph Johnson has served as the associate vice president for physical plant since May 2002. In this capacity, he has responsibility for a staff of approximately 800 employees and has oversight of the University’s facility maintenance and operations, custodial services, utility functions, and landscape and grounds maintenance.

Johnson earned a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a master of science in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He holds a multidisciplinary certificate in energy engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is a registered professional engineer.

Johnson previously served as the director of operations for physical plant at Pennsylvania State University, a position he held for approximately five years. Prior to that appointment, he served 24 years in the Navy as a Civil Engineer Corps officer, managing engineering and construction projects, conducting facility maintenance and operations, and overseeing design and construction contracts at a wide variety of locations throughout the world.
