The Associate Vice President for Auxiliary Services is responsible for the administrative management of Bulldog Bucks, Campus Transit, University Printing, The UGA Bookstore, The UGA Golf Course, UGA Food Services, UGA Parking Services and Vending Services. Duties include planning, directing and coordinating these activities which provide goods and services required to meet the educational objectives of the institution and provide for the students, faculty, staff and visitors at the University of Georgia. The Associate Vice President reports to the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration. Auxiliary Service units are established by the President upon recommendation of the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration, subject to the approval of the Board of Regents.
Auxiliary Services enhances the University’s pursuit of excellence and fulfills the needs of students, faculty, staff, and visitors of the University of Georgia by developing and offering high quality goods and services, operating in a financially self-supporting manner, and providing exceptional customer service to the campus.
Bulldog Bucks is the way to pay at UGA. This online account based debit card program allows students and the campus community to enjoy a simple, convenient, secure, and useful method of payment for purchases both on and off campus. Bulldog Bucks can be used to pay for many purchases including copy and print services on campus, meals and snacks at UGA Food Services, a round of golf at the UGA Golf Course, eye glass repairs, groceries, dining out, auto repairs, haircuts, laundry, and medical services and prescriptions at the University Health Center.
Campus Transit is the transportation solution throughout the University campus. With over 10 million passengers per year, Campus Transit is the largest passenger carrier outside of Atlanta. Customer Service is a top priority for Campus Transit who provides the University community with 10 routes and serves more passengers than any other University system in the country. Service is provided 24 hours a day, Monday-Friday and a number of routes are provided during the weekends.
University Printing is dedicated to providing a full-service experience for any printing need. University Printing is fully equipped to provide quality printing and design services for everything from University business cards and stationary items to folders, posters, brochures, books, magazines, and annual reports. A Heidelberg four color press is used to produce complex color printing requests while digital color proofing and direct-computer-to-plate systems provide highly accurate proofs for customers. University Printing has been recognized at state, regional, and national levels for their exceptional design work. The UGA Golf Course is a beautiful and challenging course open to the general public and home to the Stadion Classic at UGA, an annual Web.com Tournament co-sanctioned by the PGA TOUR. The par 71 Robert Trent Jones layout is widely regarded as one of the best university courses in the nation. In 2011, the UGA Golf Course was ranked 8th in the nation by GolfWeek Magazine among campus courses and 11th in the nation in 2010. Renovated in 2006 by Love Golf Design, the course is up to modern championship play standards. The Golf Course has a number of features and services including a full service golf shop, online golf shop, online tee time reservations, a full size driving range, a short game practice area, private and group lessons, club fitting and repair services, student memberships, and non-student memberships.
UGA Food Services provides meal plan, catering, retail, and fixed priced dining to the campus community at a reasonable cost. There are four meal plan dining commons on campus: Snelling Dining Commons, Oglethorpe Dining Commons, Bolton Dining Commons, and The Village Summit. Campus Catering provides meals and service for many events including conferences, seminars, weddings, and academic or sports camp groups. Food Services has retail dining venues located in Tate Student Center and a number of academic buildings around campus. UGA Food Services has received numerous national and regional awards including Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards for Excellence, the Governorís Award for Customer Service, the Chancellorís Award for Customer Service, the Silver Plate Award, the prestigious Ivy Award for Excellence, and a number of Culinary Awards.
UGA Parking Services is proud to provide and manage safe, orderly, and affordable parking for everyone who drives and parks on campus. Additionally, Parking provides a number of services to the campus including free vehicle safety checks, jumpstarts, directions/information, and student job opportunities. Parking Services has won many international, national, state, and University awards including the Governorís Award for Customer Service and the International Parking Instituteís International Parking Organization of the Year Award.
Vending Services is provided through a contract with a local company utilizing over 400 coin operated machines located in more than 150 buildings on the UGA campus, including the Health Sciences Campus. Vending Services oversees the distribution of newspapers, magazines, and student papers in many of the racks on campus. In addition, the Vending Services Department is responsible for solicitation on campus.
