All
Risk Insurance
The
All Risk policy insures property items not covered by the
State Owned Building and Content Property Agreement. The following
coverages are available: Money & Securities, Fine Art,
Hull, Non-State Owned Property, and Transient State Property.
UGA is billed an annual premium for All Risk coverage. Transient
Equipment and Non-Owned State Property are insured for 20
cents per $100 value and Fine Art is 35 cents per $100 value,
in FY2009, Fine Art will be 38 cents per $100 value. The deductible
on claims is $1,000 per occurrence unless otherwise stated.
Hull (watercraft) is insured for $2.00 per $100 value. The
deductible for hull claims is 10% of the total value of the
damaged vessel. The mysterious disappearance of an item is
not a covered cause of loss.
Money
& Securities
The coverage includes cash, fraudulent credit card usage or
valuables of certified clients, patients or students when
the items are in the written documented care, custody or control
of UGA. There is no deductible for a Money & Securities
claim.
Fine
Art
Coverage is for appraised values of works of art, antiques,
or artifacts owned by the University or in the Universitys
care, custody, or control. A written care custody or control
agreement must exist for substantiating a claim.
Hull
Coverage for aircraft or watercraft owned by UGA.
Non-Owned
State Property
Non-owned state property in a departments care, custody
or control for which the University must assume responsibility
for loss or damage can be insured under the All Risk policy.
Transient
Transient coverage applies to State owned property that is
loaned to an authorized individual to perform authorized State
business. An authorization for off campus use form must be
on file with the Property Control Office prior to the equipment
being removed from the building or the campus. Transient coverage
also includes "off road type equipment" that is
excluded from the vehicle policy (i.e., backhoe, golf cart,
tractor, etc.)
Where
the cause of loss is burglary, "Burglary" must be
constituted with signs of forcible entry into a building or
structure. There must be evidence of forcible entry. The Covered
Property must be protected by a security device(s). Any and
all security device(s) must be engaged at the time of the
"burglary". There must be evidence that the security
device(s) were engaged and circumvented or defeated at the
time of the "burglary". If there is no evidence
of forcible entry, a loss to Covered Property can also be
considered "burglary" if the Covered Property was
secured by means such as chains, locks, cables, or bolts and
there is evidence of forced removal.
All
property losses or damage to items insured under the All Risk
policy must be reported to the University of Georgia Police
immediately. If your department is not located on the main
UGA campus, please contact your local police department. Report
all claims to the Risk Management Office within 48 hours of
the incident via email. All Risk claims are processed by Judy
Baxter. Judy Baxter's email address is jbaxter@uga.edu
and Judy's phone number is 706-425-3083.
