Auto Rental Procedures
University of Georgia employees are authorized to rent automobiles while on official state business subject to certain limitations and restrictions. Within Georgia, use of the state contract with Enterprise Rent-A-Car is mandated.
Under no circumstances shall any vehicle that is rented be used, operated or driven by any person who is not an employee of the University of Georgia, or for the transportation of persons or property for hire. At the time of renting the vehicle, you will not have to make any insurance selections. Collision coverage or “Loss Damage Waiver” is automatically included in the Enterprise Statewide contract. Enterprise Rent-A-Car: Rental Cars at Everyday Low Rates
If the point of rental is out of state, the statewide contractor is National Car Rental. State employees will be required to provide the state agency name: University of Georgia and account number 5004625 to receive the contract rates. Collision coverage or “Loss Damage Waiver” is

Keep in mind; there is neither liability insurance coverage nor collision waiver provision if the vehicle is used for non-business purposes. Business rental is defined as rentals for which the renter is reimbursed, in whole or in part, by the University of Georgia.
What if your business location does not have access to Enterprise for instate rental or your out-of-state travel destination does not offer National? Other rental companies may be utilized for official state business; however, they will not offer “Collision Insurance Coverage”. Please select “Collision” Insurance coverage at the time of the rental. This coverage will pay for any physical damage caused to the vehicle. You will not need to select liability coverage as it is automatically provided by the State of Georgia while on official state business.
