employees for their efforts on behalf of UGA at the 2007 Recognition
Ceremony and presented awards for service and merit.
Employees achieving milestones at the 5,10, 15, 20, 25 and 30
year levels were recognized; those at the 25 and 30-year levels
were invited on stage to receive their awards.

The
pinnacle award in the Recognition Program is a University of
Georgia rocking chair presented at the 30-year level. Betty
Davenport-Dumas of South Campus Custodial (Physical Plant)
has already received that award, but was honored by President
Michael F. Adams and Senior Vice President Tim Burgess for
achieving a 35-year milestone of service.

F&A
staff members enjoyed refreshments following the morning ceremony.
|
 |
In
the afternoon, more than 500 Finance and Administration employees
gathered on Herty Field for an ice cream social.
|
 |
Tim
Burgess and the other members of the senior staff served bowls
of ice cream, which staff members then sprinkled with their
favorite toppings.
|
 |
Duane
Ritter of Human Resources and Holley Schramski of the Controller's
Division had an active serving station – so active that
Danny Sniff of the University Architects Office (in the background)
had to give his arm a rest!
|
 |
Doesn't
this look relaxing? A bowl of ice cream and a breeze off the
water of the Herty Field fountain – the perfect way to
cool off on a warm spring day!
