The primary
responsibility of the Property Control Office is to develop
policies, standards and guidelines for the effective management
of supply inventories, for the utilization, disposition and
accountability for equipment owned by and in the custody of
the University and for purchasing analysis. Reporting procedures
are developed as necessary and periodic audits are conducted
to verify the accuracy of the perpetual records. Identification
numbers are assigned and affixed for purposes of accountability.
Physical inventories are scheduled and implemented to verify
the location of equipment and the respective records are updated
to agree with the physical count. A warehouse is maintained
for unassigned property to maximize the utilization of surplus
property.
The Property
Control Office develops procedures for the effective management
of the equipment inventory, for records management and for
the reutilization and disposition of excess property. Procedures
for the management of the equipment inventory are listed in
Property Accounting and cover the acquisition, disposition,
loss, transfer and physical inventory of property.

these items to determine condition and disposition, hold in
storage those items fit for reissue, reissue items as needs

University, or scrap items which are not economically repairable.
