Finance

"New to F&A Day"
May 23rd, 2007
|
 |
Nearly
75 people participated in the Second Annual New to F&A
Day. The orientation program is open to staff members who
have worked in the division for less than two years.
|
 |
Community
leaders escorted participants on a walking tour of downtown
and then joined them for breakfast and a brief program at
Trumps.
|
 |
Student
guides from the UGA Visitors Center introduced participants
to historic North Campus.
|
 |
Senior
Vice President Tim Burgess shared information on the structure
of Finance and Administration as well as its goals and challenges
in a presentation to the participants at the Chapel.
|
 |
The
Physical Plant’s Reception Hall was packed with participants
for lunch.
|
 |
Door
prizes – including gift certificates to the UGA Bookstore
and tickets to two home football games – were awarded
to lucky recipients.
|
Following the lunch, participants
divided into small groups for tours of the operations of
the Physical Plant’s
Chicopee headquarters. The Physical Plant is Finance and Administration’s
largest division, and the tour helped to inform participants
of the scope of work that goes on behind the scenes at UGA.
|
 |
The
program concluded with a bus tour of campus and a stop at
the Campus Services Fair, where participants experienced
a sampling of the food and many other services provided by
UGA’s Auxiliary and Administrative Services units.
