Kathy Pharr serves as the assistant vice president for finance and administration and director of health sciences campus administration. Her primary duties are to lead the University’s transition to the new Health Sciences Campus, ensuring that all buildings are prepared and all functions required to support the academic enterprise are in place as each facility comes online beginning in 2011. In addition, she coordinates many other administrative matters for Finance and Administration and serves as a liaison in various campus-wide initiatives.

Prior to joining Finance and Administration, Pharr served as assistant to the president at the University of Georgia and was the liaison with the University’s facilities and fund-raising units. Previously, she served as director of communications and public relations at the UGA School of Law. Before assuming that position, she served as a television news reporter in Louisville, Kentucky, and Savannah, Georgia.

Pharr earned a doctorate in higher education management from the University of Georgia in 2011 and also holds a master’s in public administration (with a specialization in higher education) and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from UGA.
