Senior
Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration
Ryan
Nesbit serves as the senior associate vice president
for finance and administration and has primary responsibility
for day-to-day management of all units reporting to the
Office of the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration.
He also provides leadership for the University’s
budget planning and resource allocation processes, and
facilitates the computing efforts that support the finance
and administration functions with the Office of the Chief
Information Officer.
Prior to assuming this role in October
2005, Nesbit served as associate vice president and budget
director since August
2000 where he was responsible for the development, implementation,
and management of UGA’s annual operating budget,
as well as the development of UGA’s annual capital
plan. He began working at UGA in 1994 in the facilities
planning office where he held several positions and served
as its associate director before being named budget director.
He took leave from UGA in 1995 and 1996 to serve as the
Sanford Stadium venue operations manager for the Atlanta
Committee for the Olympic Games.
Nesbit holds a master’s degree in business administration
from the University of Georgia and a bachelor’s degree
in business administration from The Citadel. He currently
serves on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Northeast
Georgia, coordinates UGA’s annual Campaign for Charities,
and is a member of the Athens First United Methodist Church.
